There are many opportunities for a person who is looking for a place to camp in the Northwest. The area offers a very diverse region. You can go for a few days or a few weeks depending on where you want to go, what you want to do while you are there, and what you hope to get out of the trip.
If you feel the need to go on a long outdoor trip you will want to go backpacking. Before you go there are some very important things you need to know. I recommend The Backpacker's Handbook for your preparation. It is written by Chris Townsend who is a well known adventurist in the area.
Other camping involves taking a day or two off and parking the car in a campsite. This can be very fun, especially for families.
